Weddings, Family, and Blessings

Three of my children were married in one month’s time. I should clarify… my Cavod kids! LOL! It’s hard to believe they are all grown up!

Josiah and Sierra were married on August 25th. Sierra started taking dance at Cavod when she was 4 years old in 2006… the second year Cavod was in existence! She was at Cavod for 12 years. Josiah started years later in theatre and dance! They both act & dance professionally! So beautiful!  And Darla, Sierra’s mom is a dear friend of mine who has been on the board at Cavod for a number of years.

Caitlin and Sterling’s wedding was on August 30th. Caitlin started dancing at Cavod in 2012 when she was 11 and danced at Cavod for 11 years. Fun fact: Caitlin caught Sterling’s eye at an Ornate performance, Cavod’s professional team, (Sterling was supposed to be watching his sister dance), and that began his pursuit of her. Another Cavod love story!

Abby and Josiah were married on September 6th. Abby has been a dancer at Cavod along with her four beautiful sisters pictured below. We love the Imchen family! They are personal friends of ours.

These 3 couples are amazing! They have grown into beautiful, powerful young adults who are passionate about the Lord. Love them so much!

The parties continued as we celebrated my hubby’s 70th birthday at Blackworth Steakhouse with our children and spouses. (Our daughter Tahnya’s husband was on a missions trip and was not there.) It was so much fun and yes, he was surprised!

Dave is such a gift to me! He is my anchor, pastor, and best friend! His unconditional Christ-like love is evident to all he meets. I would not be where I am today without his love and encouragement.

The 2nd surprise party was dinner at Funks on Friday evening with Dave’s siblings and spouses. Nine out of fourteen were there! Yes, there are fourteen brothers and sisters in his family. (Three are deceased and one is Amish and lives in Indiana.) It was such a great time talking about their growing up years being Amish in a large family.

At Cavod… every day is a day to celebrate as our students are happy to be back in session! We are gearing up to be in the New Holland and Manheim parades. Our Citylight teams are learning choreography to dance on our moving float. Make sure to look for us and give us a shout if you are there!

I am extremely grateful for God’s healing touch on Lysion, our new teacher! He and his wife Meredith moved from Oklahoma in August to be on staff at Cavod. Lysion was extremely sick in the ICU at LGH just two weeks ago. It is truly a miracle that he is recovering, and back at Cavod! These newlyweds were just married in July and bring so much joy to Cavod! We are so grateful for their beautiful hearts and for joining the Cavod family. Please keep Lysion in your prayers for renewed strength, energy, and complete healing!

The weekends at Cavod are also busy with activity. Rehearsals are in full swing for Mary Poppins! You won’t want to miss this delightful show! We open on October 18th with a beautiful dinner theatre. Click here for more information and to purchase your tickets.

In my quiet time, the Lord has led me to scriptures that talk about waiting on the Lord.

“The Lord is my portion”, says my soul, Therefore I hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who WAIT for Him. To the soul who seeks Him.

Lamentations 3:24

WAIT on the Lord, be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart;

WAIT, I say, on the Lord!

Psalms 27:14

It is critical that we do not lose focus in busy seasons, but we take the time to mediate and just be still in His presence. As we are in awe of God and read His word, God becomes bigger, and our problems become smaller. How good it is to dwell in His presence! It is a MUST to be victorious and be at peace!

Prayer – “Thank you Lord for your faithfulness in our lives. As we wait on you, strengthen our hearts and give us courage for each moment of each day. May we LIVE and ABIDE in your presence. We love you and praise you, oh God, our redeemer and deliverer! In Jesus Name, amen.

Have an amazing, victorious week with a cup of coffee!

Much Love,
Executive Director
