Dress Code

Part of the discipline of dance and acro is coming to class prepared, dressed neatly, and in the proper attire. We believe our dress code improves the quality of our students’ education. By making dancewear simple and uniform, teachers can more clearly see student’s bodies and therefore make more accurate corrections regarding movements and positions.

It is highly recommended that you purchase dress code items from the Cavod Boutique (located at the front desk at either location) for your convenience as we are able to properly fit your student for most dance shoes and leotards. Some items are ONLY available through us and other items you can get on your own.

We will send out specific boutique hours during the summer via email. Please take advantage of these summer times as we will not be fitting anyone for the boutique during the first week of classes so we can focus on helping our families find their studios.

Comfortable clothes that are form fitting and allow for movement can be worn to class until boutique items are purchased.

General Guidelines:

  • Warm-ups, including any articles of additional clothing beyond leotards (ladies) or fitted tops and tights (guys), must be removed after the first 5 min of class. This includes wraps, skirts, shorts, pants, leg warmers, socks, sweaters, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, etc. We highly recommend leaving warm-ups in your dance bag or cubby to eliminate time spent away from focusing on your class work.
  • Girls/Ladies: Do not wear underwear underneath tights. Tights act as your underwear. No bras underneath your leotard unless it is a dance bra with clear straps that matches the line of your leotard.
  • No sports bras, low-cut necklines, high cut leglines, or cut out/mesh leotards.
  • No jewelry except for stud earrings.
  • No cropped tops or booty shorts.
  • Please wear warm-ups, skirt, or t-shirt over leotards when not in class – especially when coming in and out of the buildings.

–For dance and acro classes in the Spring Dance Concert, there will be an additional costume fee of $70-$95. Deposits will be due in October and the balances will be due in November.
