Save the Date!

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and baked corn are just a few favorites that our family loves for Thanksgiving! I am cooking for our family of nineteen. Everyone pitches in and brings something to add to our traditional foods on this special day. It causes us to stop, spend time with each other, and watch football! LOL!

I am especially thankful today for my personal relationship with Jesus and His Word that is so powerful and strengthens me! I don’t know where I would be without Him. If you are reading this now and are thinking… how I wish I could know the Lord or… I am going through a dry time… I need prayer… please reach out to me. I would love to pray for you!

Psalm 27 has been especially meaningful to me over the years! I love to mark in my Bible, underline, and write dates when God encouraged me with a particular scripture. My Bible is a mini diary! I love it!

The Lord is my LIGHT and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?

One thing have I desired of the Lord, That will I seek;

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the Lord.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed

That I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say on the Lord!

Take a moment to look it up and read the whole chapter and let the Holy Spirit speak to you! His Word is POWERFUL, LIVING, and gives us HOPE and STRENGTH! It’s healing for every situation! You will discover more and more about who Jesus is and just how MAGNIFICENT He is! The stories in the Bible will become alive and real to you!

Below is a picture of Psalm 27, marked up in my Bible.

Hopefully you can zoom in and see it. In case you can’t read my writing, some of my notes say… “July 9, 2020”, “encouragement when opening Cavod through Covid.”, “WAIT! Rest! I have this!!” with hearts and musical notes everywhere. LOL! That takes me right back to that crazy year, and brings me to my knees with THANKSGIVING! Ohhh how quickly I can complain and take my freedom for granted in this great nation, with all of its flaws and turmoil… my soul cries out with joy and thanksgiving!

Dave and I have been so blessed through our many friendships we have made through our journey over the last 20 years of Cavod!!! DID I SAY 20 YEARS?!!!  YES! YES! How can that be???

We want to celebrate with ALL OF YOU! Drum roll please…

At the Worship Center in Leola

2:00pm-5:00pm

Take a “Lifetime Tour” through video, performances, prizes, refreshments, and so much more! Fun for the whole family!!! DETAILS COMING SOON! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

We have enjoyed getting to know so many of our great sponsors. We had a wonderful few days away with our friends Wolfe & Arlene Andrews and Gary & June Reynolds. We stayed at Wolfe & Arlene’s beautiful home in Fenwick Island. We watched the sunset, took walks, ate lots of food, and laughed a lot!

We also were blessed with tickets to see “Frozen” at the Fulton with June! Gary was sick that night so they asked for two of our grandchildren to go along and we made it a girls night out! Dave opted out and forfeited his ticket to the grands. What a grandpa!

And Cavod Theatre is preparing to present “The Unplugged Christmas Carol”, December 6-8th. This is an original dance show by our very own Grace Mae Bell! You will be inspired and ready to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas! Tickets are going fast!  Click Here to purchase your tickets before they sell out!

Prayer – Dear Lord, we are so thankful for your WORD, the Bible, that strengthens and empowers us! We are grateful for who you are and your goodness to us! Thank you for your many blessings and the freedom we have in this great country. May we cultivate a heart of thanksgiving and be a blessing to all! We love you Lord, Amen.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friends, with a cup of coffee and a cheerful heart!

Much love,
Executive Director
