The expression “my heart is full” has always bugged me. LOL! What does that even mean? Well if there is ever a time to use those words for me it would be now! I am so grateful and blessed!
Here are a few things…
- Our family was all together for Thanksgiving with laughter, a dance party, and playing games. Such a fun time!
- Our son, Derek and his company Make Films is producing a movie called “Brave the Dark” and it will be showing through Angel Studios. We were invited to a zoom call prayer meeting for the film with Angel Studios! What a powerful time! It will open in theaters across the USA on January 24th! Congratulations Derek! More to come on this impactful movie!
- We had our Christmas dinner with Dave’s 10 siblings and their spouses. What a lovely time, singing Christmas Carols in 4-part harmony and sharing family memories of their childhood days of being raised Amish.
- The show “Unplugged Christmas Carol”, which all four of my granddaughters were in, was at Cavod Theatre. We had a record attendance in the history of Cavod, 14 tickets away from selling out all four shows! What a message and a talented cast!
Their friends at Cavod are pricless!
- The café at Cavod is a warm and fun place to be. Below, our teen outreach team, the Citylight girls are laughing and hanging out with friends and with their director Meredith! I love seeing these lasting wholesome friendships develop!
- We had a lovely Cavod Christmas Staff & Volunteers Party with an exquisite meal catered by “Two Peas in a Pot!”. Entertainment was provided by Family Feud LIVE at Cavod, with host Richard Lapp filling in for Steve Harvey! 😊 Ninety-one students and parents took surveys to make the evening fun and memorable! Questions like…”If the café ladies were to have a sleep over, what would they do?” and “If the teachers were in the cast of home alone, who would have been left behind?” It was a night of fun as the café ladies took on the dance teachers and the theatre staff were up against the leadership team! I think this might become a yearly tradition!
- I am especially grateful for our Cavod Family… from students and parents, to staff and volunteers. Because of our generous donors, Cavod continues to thrive!

In Luke 1, Mary said…
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him, from generation to generation.
Prayer – “Dear Lord, we praise YOU for You are GOOD! In every season of our lives, YOU are faithful! We are thankful for the birth of Jesus this Christmas, our Redeemer, Savior, and friend! Lord, bless my friends as they read this email. May they find peace and rest as they take time to reflect on your unfailing love for them. Touch those who are weary and need healing and strength today. Thank you! We wait on you and receive from you, oh God! In Jesus Name, Amen.”
Remember to take time to sit quietly and let the Lord speak to you and minister to you. I know I need it! Grab a cup of coffee and let’s be still and know that He is God. Silence our racing minds and let go of our to do’s for this moment. Pause… time out… breathe deep… and let go. I feel better already!
Merry Christmas and much love to you all!! |
