A Cup of Coffee & a New Season ☕️

Well… here we are in September!

After what felt like the busiest summer EVER, I have to admit, it feels really good to take a breath!

Our Cavod classes have been running for about four weeks now, and I absolutely LOVE walking through our buildings and seeing them full of life again! Familiar faces are back, new faces are joining us, and there is just an energy that comes when everyone reconnects after a long summer. And… we are at a record 1,400+ enrollments! AMAZING!

That number is exciting, but what excites me even more is what I see behind the number… students filling studios, teachers pouring into their students, leaders who genuinely care, friendships being formed, and our vision for Cavod coming to life in so many ways!

This is why we do what we do! We want Cavod to be a place where students can discover their gifts, grow in confidence, build meaningful relationships, and know that who they are and what they have been given matters. And I am so thankful for the incredible teachers and leaders God has brought alongside us to make that possible!

A Little Time to Breathe…

After such a full summer, Dave and I recently took some time to get away camping. And if you know me, you know that camping is definitely my happy place! 😊 A few of our grandchildren joined us for a couple of days, and we had some time to be alone as well, playing Rummikub and watching the Phillies in our camper.

My best friend and love-of-my-life’s birthday was last week! I surprised my hubby with his favorite thing ever—shoofly pie! 😊

We just needed some time to disconnect, slow down, laugh, rest, and just BE, which we are not always very good at! There is always another email to answer, another decision to make, another project to finish, another person who needs something, but we are learning that rest is important, too.

Sometimes we need to step away from the busyness so we can come back refreshed and ready for the next thing God has for us. And that got me thinking about seasons… Life really is made up of seasons.

Some seasons are incredibly busy and full. Some are exciting and full of growth. Some are hard. Some are quiet. Some are seasons of waiting. And sometimes, God simply invites us to rest. But He is faithful in every single one. Maybe that’s what I’m learning in this season… to slow down, to allow God to renew my strength, and to trust Him with whatever comes next.

I have been meditating on this familiar verse in Isaiah 40 recently.

Vs. 31 “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.”

I love the reminder that waiting on God isn’t wasted time. Sometimes renewal comes when we stop striving and simply make space for Him. So, wherever you find yourself today, I hope you can remember that you don’t need to have the next season all figured out. We don’t have to know exactly what the next season holds. We just need to trust the One who does. I believe that’s what I’m learning right now… to embrace the season I’m in rather than always rushing toward the next one.

And speaking of the next season…we are heading into NEWSIES! Our cast is absolutely STELLAR, and I cannot wait to see this show come to life! As I look around Cavod these days, I am so grateful and, underneath it all, I see the faithfulness of God! He has been faithful in every season, and I know He will continue to be!
