Seasons

There’s something about fall that always reminds me of God’s faithfulness. The changing leaves show us that seasons come and go, but the Lord remains the same… steadfast, unchanging, and full of compassion for us. Just as we pull on a cozy sweater and wrap our hands around a warm cup of coffee, He invites us to rest in His presence and find comfort in His Word. Oh, how sweet it is to rest in His presence!
September was a full and wonderful month for Dave and I. We wrapped up our camping adventures at Yogi Bear in Quarryville with some of our grandchildren, and what a blast we had! From swimming and riding around a golf cart, to enjoying movies and popcorn in the evenings, it was memory-making at its best!
We also spent a weekend at Cove Valley on a retreat with our New Life Church family. It was such a special time of fellowship, worship, and fun with dear friends.
My husband had a birthday this month and his one request was that we don’t go far, so I made reservations for dinner and a night at the Leola Inn a mile from our home! LOL! It was such a lovely time as we took some time away for just the two of us! I am so grateful to have married such a Godly man who is my rock, my encourager, and my “kite string”! He is upbeat and positive in every season of life, always seeing the good in every situation. He has unconditional love and is my best friend! Love you babe!
We also had fun celebrating our son Derek’s 40th birthday! It’s hard to believe I have a son that age. He has accomplished so much in his short lifetime and most of all, is a loving husband and father. He has a beautiful wife Ashley and 2 wonderful children, Makayla and Ethan. His birthday celebration was a sweet reminder of how quickly time passes and how faithful God has been through every season of life.
Our three children: Tahnya, Derek, and Aaron.
On the Cavod side, exciting things are happening! We are in the process of expanding our Manheim location by 6,000 square feet. Meetings with the architect, final drawings, and prints are completed! We are getting estimates and preparing to start construction in January. We would appreciate your prayers as we trust God to provide every detail in His timing.
Another highlight this month was Cavod’s very first Worship Night, hosted together by Ornate and Citylight, our two ministry teams. What a joy to witness teens, young adults, and families lifting their hearts to God through worship and movement. The presence of the Lord was so real and powerful. It truly stirred a hunger for more of Him in everyone who attended!
This past month wasn’t without its challenges, as I’ve battled sinus infections and inner ear issues. Yet, even in that, I’ve been reminded of God’s care and His desire to bring restoration and wholeness to our lives. At church this past Sunday, Pastor Chris spoke on the power of the tongue—how life and death are in the words we speak.
Death & Life are in the power of the tongue. -Proverbs 18:21
It was such a timely reminder to keep speaking life, to guard our minds, and to trust the Lord in every situation.
As we step into this new week together, let’s fix our eyes on Jesus. May we walk in His wisdom, strength, and joy, saying no to anything that would hold us back, and fully embracing the abundant life He has for us! Here is one of my favorite verses to focus on this week.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
-Psalm 19:14
Meditate on this verse, write it down, and put it on your bathroom mirror, in your car, at your desk, and say it out loud before you go to bed. Let this sink in and change your life! It’s so powerful!
Prayer: Dear Lord, we trust You in every situation. Fill us with hope, courage, and love as we serve You this week. May we speak words of life that build each other up. Keep our FOCUS on you. We are so grateful for you oh God! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a wonderful week, my friends. Meet with someone for coffee and encourage them! God is so good!
With much love,
