Help us to renovate our new space into a dynamic theatre with a world of possibilities!
Imagine a community of children, teens, adults, and seniors coming together to learn, grow, create, and inspire. A community where not one person is best but all leads, ensemble, designers, choreographers, directors, backstage crew, and producer are best…together.
Why not make this dream a reality?
Cavod Theatre, a branch of Cavod Academy of the Arts, is a 501c3 non-profit organization looking to remodel a new space into a theatre to teach students of all ages and produce quality theatre for the community!
After years of renting spaces we finally got a taste of what it’s like to have our own space in our current facility. Having a studio that can be transformed into a theatre overnight has been a blast. Unfortunately, it also has its challenges. With a relatively small stage, a low ceiling, packed seating for only 100 people, acoustics that are less than ideal, dance studios converted to dressing rooms, and tight maneuverability for our sets, we have managed to put on some excellent productions over the last year and a half. We also have 5 acting classes, all crammed into one night. But no more….
We are now moving to a space that will be able to house 250 audience members. With new sound and lighting equipment, we will drastically reduce the price of each show by not having to rent equipment. The stage will be 40 feet wide and almost 20 feet deep- and that pesky backstage access will now only be separated by some curtains, so our sets can be moved easily. The actors will have a dynamic dressing room area that will also double as a classroom and conference room. Our lobby area will be beautiful and the audience won’t have to walk backstage to use the restrooms. Audience members will also have their own exits, so those who wish to stay and see actors can do so in the lobby, without getting in the way of others.
At the same time, the rest of our academy is growing, so the current space also needs to renovated. The big studio in the current space will be converted to a dance studio with mirrors, and the stage will become part of the café, giving us a less crowded café area during those busy nights of the week.
There’s a lot of change happening at Cavod and we need all of you to be a part of it! We’re quickly growing and creating positive change in the community through the arts, and we wish to keep providing opportunities to people in the community. Join the Cavod family in a unique way by donating to this campaign!
