This dynamic and creative class introduces students to the art of choreography and self-expression through movement. Designed for dancers ages 12 and up, Dance Composition encourages students to explore their own ideas, emotions, and stories while learning the fundamental tools of creating original dance piece that will be showcased in the Dance Concert!
Students will experiment with elements of dance such as space, time, and energy, while developing skills in improvisation, movement invention, and structured choreography. Through guided exercises and collaborative projects, dancers will gain confidence in their creative voice and learn how to shape movement into meaningful compositions.
The class also includes opportunities to analyze professional works, give and receive constructive feedback, and refine performance quality all through the lens of partnering with Holy Spirit for inspiration
Prerequisite: Students must also be enrolled in Modern 3 or Ballet 3 or higher.
